UNITY GARDENS

Unity Gardens is a locally based, non-profit organization that supports the building of community partnerships through the creation of greening projects, environmental enhancement and education in Anne Arundel County. Projects are generally funded up to $1,000 to qualified non-profit organizations such as community associations, religious organizations, schools, scout troops, and community organizations.

Many of our grants support our GreenGive partners and their commitment to cleaner creeks, rivers and watersheds in Anne Arundel County. Here is a list of projects that were installed by our GG partners: many Watershed Stewards’ capstone projects; West Rhode River Keeper’s native plantings for a stormwater wetland; Back Creek Conservancy for conservation landscaping; Spa Creek Conservancy’s ravine conservation project; South River Federation’s rain garden and bioretention planting at St. Anne’s School; Annapolis Green’s pollinator garden; Our Creeks and Conservancy native plantings for stormwater retrofit rain gardens at Mt. Olive AME Church; Severn River Association’s flood control in Ben Oaks; and a conservation landscape at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. The few GreenGive organizations that have not received funding partner in our united efforts to educate and enhance our environment.

Unity Gardens also grants funds to schools whose teachers are working with their students to design and install pollinator gardens. Recently we have funded several pre-schools who embrace educating their students on the environmental benefits of planting pollinators. A great way to encourage stewardship in our young!

Your donation to Unity Gardens is a gift to all GreenGive partners.
